Safeguarding is at the forefront of everything we do at Sea Rangers. It is the responsibility of all of us.
It is the policy of the Sea Ranger Association (SRA) to safeguard its members from physical, sexual and emotional abuse whilst participating in Sea Ranger activities. The SRA takes all reasonable steps to ensure that children, young people and adults taking part in Sea Ranger activities do so in a safe environment.
This policy applies to all members, including Council of Management (Trustees), Member Volunteers, Adult Helpers and Instructors, Students or anyone working on behalf of the Sea Ranger Association.
The purpose of this policy:
- to protect children and young people under 18 who receive (Sea Ranger Association’s) services. This includes the children of adults who use our services;
- to provide staff and volunteers with the paramount principles that aid our approach to safeguarding and child protection;
The Sea Ranger Association believes that a child or young person should never experience abuse of any kind. We have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children and young people and to keep them safe. We are committed to practise all we do in a way that protects them.
