Our Activities

Each crew plans its own programme of activities but they have a nautical bias. This will include the badge schemes as well as including kayaking, sailing and rowing, camping and holidays. They take part in conservation events, providing support at community events, fundraising for their own crews and other good causes. In addition crews are able to take part in activities and events organised nationally.

NATIONAL EVENTS

Regatta – an annual national regatta is held each year with crews competing against each other in a variety of events. Events are for both the Cadet Sea Ranger and the Sea Ranger sections

Cadet Dolphin Challenge – this is a competition specifically for Cadet Sea Rangers designed to promote teamwork and initiative. Teams of four tackle different tasks which are based upon the main Cadet Sea Ranger programme and badge scheme. The event is held annually and takes place at different venues around the country.

National Training Weekend – each year the Sea Ranger Association holds a training weekend on board the “Lord Amory” at the Dockland Scout Project, and is open to all members – Cadet Sea Rangers, Sea Rangers and Officers.

Offshore Sailing – is offered to girls aged 13 and over. There are opportunities to experience short cruises or take part in longer passages including the Tall Ships Race. This develops team work, confidence and puts all skills previously gained into practice.

Crews organise more local activities and events such as regattas, swimming galas, holidays and camps where you can meet up with members from other crews and experience new opportunities, learn new skills and make new friends with similar interests.
